FluoroCarbon line Vs Braided line?
Im still confused about which line to use…Which is better?
Should I just use braid line with fluorocarbon leader? or just braided? or just Fluorocarbon?
That depends. They both have their time and place. You have to consider things like what you’re fishing for, water clarity, lake structure, and so on. Fluorocarbon has nearly the same light refraction index as water, so it’s virtually invisible in the water. It’s also pretty strong for its line diameter. Braid is just all around tough line. It’s not at all invisible in the water but, if you’re not fishing clear water or you’re fishing in or around various cover, it doesn’t matter much. It kind of blends in. I go with braid on my flipping and pitching rods. Braid is good when fishing in the thick stuff. Stuff that mono couldn’t stand up to. I use fluoro on my cranking sticks and a few of my general purpose rods. You really need to find which would work best for the situation at that time. You may also want to take two rods. One with braid strung up, the other with fluoro. You can then get a feel for each line’s characteristics, and see which is best for you.
